The Placerville City Council invites individuals who are interested in sharing their positive energy and creative talents to apply for appointment to unexpired terms of office on the Planning Commission, Measure H Sales Tax Committee and the Historical Advisory Committee. The Planning Commission and Historical Advisory Committee are unexpired terms of office, set to expire on March 1, 2015. The unexpired term of office on the Measure H Sales Tax Committee is set to expire on March 1, 2017.

The function of the Planning Commission is to work within the guidelines established by the City’s General Plan for the physical development of the City and generally meets the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 6 p.m. Membership requirements for the Planning Commission require either residence within the city limits or a primary business owner within the city limits who lives within the Community Region. Contact the City Clerk at 530-642-5531 if you are unsure of the boundaries of the Community Region.

The Historical Advisory Committee is advisory to the Planning Commission, City Council and the director of Development Services with respect to identification, development and preservation of historic resources in accordance with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties and other recognized state and federal preservation programs, and generally meets on the third Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. This vacancy must be filled by a resident of the city.

The Measure H Sales Tax Committee monitors sales tax trends and receipts, develops budgetary recommendations and ensures the proper use of the Measure H sales tax revenues. This committee is advisory to the City Council and meets as needed, generally four to six times per year at 6 p.m. Members must either be residents of the city, or own a business and/or commercial property within the city limits.

Applications may be obtained at City Hall, 3101 Center Street, or by calling 530-642-5531. Application forms are also available on the city Website at cityofplacerville.org. Deadline for applications is Feb. 13.

"The Historical Advisory Committee is advisory to the Planning Commission, City Council and the director of Development Services with respect to identification, development and preservation of historic resources in accordance with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties and other recognized state and federal preservation programs" <----It also has a connection to CEDAC.
