Clear Creek bridges meeting set

County transportation staff will hold a meeting 6-7:30 p.m. Nov. 20 at Pleasant Valley Middle School about the Clear Creek Road Bridge Replacement Projects.

The Transportation Division is proposing to replace the two bridges over Clear Creek north of Sly Park Road in the Pleasant Valley area. According to senior civil engineer Thor Larsen, the bridge at Post Mile 0.25 was built in 1957 and the bridge at Post Mile 1.82 was built in 1940.

“Both bridges have been rated structurally deficient by a professional bridge inspection team from the state, and their usable life spans are now limited,” said Larsen.

County staff will provide a brief presentation on the proposed projects and will be available to receive public comments and answer questions. Pleasant Valley Middle School is located at 4120 Pleasant Valley Road.

Additional information is available in the West Slope Road and Bridge Capital Improvement Program at: under projects 77138 and 77139. Following the meeting, the Powerpoint presentation and other project specific information will be available on the county Bridge Projects Web page at:
