CofC hosting ‘Emerging Professionals’

The El Dorado County Chamber of Commerce is announcing its newest program, Emerging Professionals, a series of guest speakers for young professionals.

Young professional chamber members ages 21 to 40-something are invited to the first Emerging Professionals meeting.

This group of men and women from different professions will meet monthly for “Breakfast with the Boss.” Each month will feature a different topic and speaker to feed your mind.

“We want to be sure we are serving the needs of the young professionals in our community,” said Laurel Brent-Bumb, CEO of the chamber.

This month’s speaker will be Mark Luster of Sierra Pacific Industries.

Luster will share some of the challenges and triumphs in the forest products industry including:

• Sierra Pacific Industries and California’s forest products industry overview
• Regulations and the cost of doing business in California
• The value of coalitions and business associations
• How individuals and business leaders can make a difference in California politics.

The meeting will take place on Oct. 2 from 8 to 9 a.m. at Denny’s restaurant on 3446 Coach Lane in Cameron Park.
