A vehicle collision in El Dorado Hills led to minor injuries to a motorcycle driver Wednesday morning.

Sara Knight, 42, of Sacramento, was driving her 2013 Hyundai Elantra eastbound in the No. 2 lane on Highway 50 at Latrobe Road at about 80 mph, CHP Officer Frank Rodriguez said. In front of her was Peter Loukes, 49, of Woodland, on a 2010 Honda NT700 going 65 mph. Knight failed to slow down, Rodriguez said, and “due to her unsafe speed,” rear-ended Loukes.
The man was ejected from his motorcycle and skidded forward over Latrobe Road, his motorcycle skidding along its right side.
A big rig stopped to help manage traffic, setting out flares. Traffic slowed as it was confined to the No. 3 lane of the overcrossing.
Loukes complained of pain to his right arm and ankle, along with scrapes, Rodriguez said, but the injuries were minor. He was taken to Marshall Hospital for treatment.
