El Dorado County Connections–One Stop is offering a series of Employer Forums this summer to help connect job seekers to local businesses who may be hiring. During these informational sessions, business representatives will speak to a group of job seekers and give insight into their organization, what they look for in employees and how to apply for open positions. Even if the employer is not currently hiring, this information can be invaluable.
“The Employer Forums not only benefit job seekers with information about these businesses, but can also give businesses a chance to initially meet individuals that they may want to contact for a formal interview,” said Sarah Schmudlach, manager of Connections–One Stop. Job seekers are encouraged to dress in interview attire and bring their resumes.
Upcoming Employer Forums include speakers from Red Hawk Casino (Aug. 14), El Dorado Irrigation District (Aug. 21) and Koby Pest Control (Sept. 4). The Employer Forums are free and open to the public. All of the upcoming Employer Forums will begin promptly at 10:30 a.m. at the El Dorado County Child Support Services building, 3883 Ponderosa Road, in Shingle Springs.
