Connections-One Stop to host hiring events

The El Dorado County Connections–One Stop is sponsoring two hiring events in June. The events are free and open to the general community. During the events, representatives from two local businesses will meet with potential candidates and conduct on-site screening interviews.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for the businesses to reach out to the community with the goal of finding qualified people who live here to fill these jobs,” said Sarah Schmudlach, supervisor of the Connections-One Stop program.

Office Max will conduct a hiring event on Thursday, June 13, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the El Dorado County Library, 345 Fair Lane in Placerville. Positions to be filled include Store Operations Supervisor, ImPress Associate and Store Associate. For this hiring event, Office Max is requiring potential candidates to first complete an application by June 11 online at the Office Max Website (about.officemax.com, under Careers, using the key word “Placerville” in the job search) and then bring a resume to the hiring event and be prepared for an interview.

Schlotzsky’s will conduct a hiring event on Wednesday, June 19, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the El Dorado County Library, 345 Fair Lane in Placerville. Schlotzsky’s is soon opening a new eatery in Placerville on Forni Road and plans to hire up to 40 people. Positions to be filled include Baker, Sales/Cashier and Food Preparer. Applications can either be completed at the hiring event or in advance. Application forms for Schlotzsky’s can be picked up at the Connections–One Stop, 3047 Briw Road in Placerville. Candidates should bring their resumes.

Connections-One Stop provides resources and assistance to members of the public who are looking for a job and to local businesses that are looking to hire employees. Connections-One Stop can help with job searches, resume writing, application completion and interview tips. Connections-One Stop is free to the public and open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with two locations in El Dorado County: 3047 Briw Road in Placerville, 530-642-4850, and 3368 Lake Tahoe Blvd in South Lake Tahoe, 530-573-4330. Connections-One Stop is a program of the El Dorado County Health and Human Services Agency.

For more information about either of these hiring events, or detailed position descriptions, contact El Dorado County Connections-One Stop at 530-642-4850.
