Two adults are missing from Citrus Heights, with a search extending to Gardnerville, Nev.

Citrus Heights Police Department received a report that Roderick Paul Clifton, 44, and Paula Lane, 46, were missing on Nov. 30, a press release stated. They had last been seen on Nov. 29 leaving a relative’s house in the area around 2:45 p.m. The two were supposed to return to their Nevada home later that same day, typically calling Roderick’s mother on completion of the journey. However, they have not been seen or heard from since and are not answering their cell phones. Relatives are worried due to roadway conditions and conditions in the mountains.

Due to the details of the case, both are considering missing and at risk, with no prior history of being missing. They were last seen driving a dark blue 1989 Jeep Cherokee, license plate 4VPB789. Their usual route home is to take Highway 50 to Tahoe and then on to Highway 89.

The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Department joined in the search.

“We’ve assisted with an extensive search effort over the weekend and through Monday,” said EDSO Sgt. James Byers, “covering the Highway 50, Highway 88, Highway 89 and Mormon Immigrant Trail areas.”

Anyone with information on the missing couple is urged to contact the Citrus Heights Police Department at 916-727-4785.
