With Friday, Aug. 8 the deadline for most of those running for positions on school, fire and special district boards, a preliminary report from the El Dorado County Elections Department shows there are still plenty of openings.
Below is a partial list of those running for office this November.
Running for one spot on the Los Rios Community College District, Trustee Area 3 is John Knight and Brad Trimble.
Running for one of three spots on the El Dorado Union High School District Board are Kevin Brown, Tim Cary, Amanda Nugent Divine, Jack Jordan and Todd White.
Running for one of two full terms on the Placerville City Council is Wendy Mattson.
Running for one of three full terms on the Cameron Park Community Services District Board is Barbara Rogers. Running for a short-term on the board is Gerald Lillpop.
Running for one of three full terms on the El Dorado Hills Community Services District Board is Allan Priest.
Running for one of two full terms on the Diamond Springs/El Dorado Fire Protection District is Thomas Anderson, Russell Hasemeier and Pat Williams.
Running for the El Dorado County Fire Protection District, Division 2, is Dennis Thomas. Running for Division 3 is Bill Draper.
Running for one of three spots on the El Dorado Hills County Water/Fire Board are Greg Durante, Wallace Fullerton and Doug Hus.
Running for one of three spots on the Garden Valley Fire Protection District Board are Frank Clark and Dave Souza.
Running for one of two terms on the Georgetown Fire Protection District Board are Larry Anderson and Jon “Rick” Todd.
Running for one for three spots on the Mosquito Fire Protection District Board are Michael Hoffman, Melissa Lynne Martini, Amber Lois Stetler and Theresa Marie Stuart.
Running for one full term on the Georgetown Divide Public Utility District Seat 1 is Ray Griffiths; running for one spot for Seat 2 is Bonnie McLane and Dr. Lon Uso.
Elections staff also noted that if the incumbent for a position doesn’t file to run by Friday, the deadline for candidates other than the incumbent would be extended to Wednesday, Aug. 13.
