Nutting is the wife of ex-supervisor Ray Nutting, and the owner of a business in Pollock Pines.
Ray Nutting lost his seat on the board after he was found guilty of six misdemeanors.
A special election to fill the seat will be held on Sept. 9 in a winner-take-all contest.
Nutting will join five other candidates who have already filed with the Elections Department. They are Claire McNeal, David Pratt, Shiva Frentzen, George Turnboo and Janet Saitman.
The nomination period for the special election began June 30 and concludes July 18.
