Divide chamber sponsors old time Candidates Fair

By From page A8 | October 05, 2012

The Divide Chamber of Commerce will be holding a Candidates Fair on Oct. 7  at the IOOF Hall in Georgetown. The doors will be open at 1 p.m. where visitors will have an opportunity to meet the different candidates running for election to an office specifically on the Divide.

Marshall Park, music director for Golden Sierra Jr. and Sr. High School, will have his select core of student musicians playing some high-stepping marching tunes.

“This is going to be a family friendly old-fashioned Candidates Fair,” said Chamber President Ken Calhoon. “Think about a non-partisan political rally with red, white and blue decorations, John Phillip Sousa marching music, hot dogs and root-beer floats. Each candidate will be given an opportunity to introduce themselves, hand out campaign material and address any issues they think will be important.”

The event is free to the public and the $2 rootbeer floats are optional. For additional information on this event contact the Divide Chamber of Commerce at 530-208-3262.
