The first things you see when you go to Freddie and Shushu Amir’s business are the numerous American flags and a flying eagle in front of their property.
It’s important to the owners of Eagle Truck & Auto on 6167 Pleasant Valley Road in El Dorado that their pride be displayed not only for incoming customers, but for themselves.
Freddie Amir first came to the U.S. in the 1960s and soon decided that he wanted to stay. He is very patriotic and fully accepted by the El Dorado community. His wife Shushu is very thankful that the people of El Dorado trust them and look at them from an objective point of view, which she thinks is very special because their roots lie in the Middle East.
“The community has been good to us, so we want to give back to the community,” Shushu said.
Freddie is enthusiastic when he talks about his business and the community. He is proud of his flags. The residents of El Dorado give him a lot of compliments because of them. The Amirs love the area they live and work in. Customers are so important to the Amirs that a lot of their customers have become close friends.
“Working in a small town like this is a lot different from doing business in a large city,” said Shushu, a registered Investment Advisor and Financial Planer with 20 years of experience in the banking business. “In a big city a car retailer sells a car to a customer and will never see his customer again. If you buy a car from us I will see you at the grocery store, at the post office or at the gas station. I will go up to you, greet you and ask you how your car is doing.” She smiled and added, “And then you will say that you love your car.”
In 2007, at the age of 64, Freddie was diagnosed with cancer. After a successful surgery and 32 days without working, he knew that he wasn’t ready to retire.
The Amirs bought Eagle Truck & Auto. Shushu had to give up her own successful business in order to be able to fully support the new business, which she said “is a very demanding business.” Still, she doesn’t regret her decision. Both said they are very happy.
They take care of the financing by working with numerous banks. “Financing is possible for almost any level of credit. We always try to also help customers with low income and low credit,” Shushu said.
Eagle Truck & Auto offers customized service to their customers. It gladly takes special requests and searches for the exact vehicle at the best price all over the U.S.
The Amirs buy their vehicles at auctions, which are mostly for car dealers only. That way the couple can be absolutely sure that the vehicle is what it was claimed to be. They have that assurance because every vehicle at the auction is previously inspected.
For a little extra a buyer can even purchase a special guarantee. It includes an inspection at the auction and provides the opportunity to return the car within seven days if anything is not as it was claimed to be.
Eagle Truck & Auto also provides qualified repair service.
“We offer high quality products and service,” Shushu said. “If you buy a car from us and have a legitimate complaint then we take care of it.”
