According to the California Highway Patrol, as of 9:37 a.m. Friday morning, both eastbound lanes of Highway 50 have been reopened. Earlier, at 8:12 a.m. downed power lines shut down both eastbound lanes west of Sly Park Road in Pollock Pines. The lines were active and reportedly burned holes in the pavement.
Westbound lanes were not affected by the downed lines.
PG&E is aware of a power outage in the Pollock Pines area, which is initially expected to affect between 500 and 5,000 customers. There is no estimated time that power will be restored.
