I know the unemployment rate is high. But what is happening is we now, after 5 years have a class of chronic unemployable citizens who will be dependent on our government for the rest of their lives. I am looking for 2 people right now to hire. Both in Sacramento. One an IT person and the other to work in Marketing. Ads have been out for over 3 months and very few applicants. Someone explain that?

By the way, those unfunded liabilities are just the healthcare and dental of the states retirees and does not include pensions.

State Controller John Chiang released a new report Thursday showing that California taxpayers are on the hook for an estimated $63.8 billion over 30 years. The unfunded liability as of June grew from $62.1 billion a year earlier.

Evelyn, I have read that in California the percentage of the population that is actually supporting the entire state is 37% and declining. Some twit over on the auburn urinal was claiming how “the state was now running a surplus and recovering nicely”. Defeating the ignorance is like trying to hold back the ocean.
