Where is my fiddle? As long as our water/sewer rates are increasing at velocity that they are NOBODY at the EID deserves to make $165K per year. Period.

Does a 200 bi-monthly water bill sound like the new norm for a residence using minimal winter time water? I guess someone has to pay for these “Management Costs” this article seems written by the EID press office. It is time for the developers to pay for their projects and continual infrastructure improvements. These continual increases are getting like the new norm of 4- to 5 a gallon gas and 10 to 20 percent unemployment. Only Day, who voted no, got this one right.

Since Abercrombie was appointed GM in September 2009, EID’s water rates have been Board-approved to increase 102% and sewer rates by 65% for 2010-2015.

Also, both Abercrombie and Cumpston are getting over $100,000 per year in pension, medical, paid time off and other benefits annually but the Board didn’t consider that information when doling out their 6% pay hikes…or that the Social Security COLA is going up just 1.7%.

In three years as GM, Abercrombie has claimed more than $20 million of assorted line item savings but actually increased bottom line costs 13% while most governments everywhere else have slashed spending.

EID’s Board majority obviously doesn’t believe in merit based pay.
