El Dorado County women win $227,955 in lottery

By From page A16 | May 04, 2012

Three El Dorado County moms were all smiles as they arrived at the California Lottery’s Sacramento District Office to claim their prize. The women held a ticket that successfully matched five numbers, missing only the Mega number, in the historic $656 million jackpot draw on March 30.

While meeting for lunch, mere hours before the MEGA Millions draw, the trio agreed to buy some lottery tickets.

Nadine Winn had never been in a lotto pool before.

She purchased tickets at Chevron, which is located 215 Placerville Drive in Folsom. Their winning ticket is worth $227,955. The women said they plan to share their winnings with the people who first brought them together over a decade ago — their children.
