El Dorado Hills man wins $88k at Red Hawk

Red Hawk Casino offers players Northern California’s lowest side bet for a chance to win a table progressive. The $1 side bet is available on Fortune Pai Gow Poker, Let It Ride, Four Card Poker, Three Card Poker and Ultimate Texas Hold’ em. The small side bet resulted in an $88,182 jackpot for Kurt from El Dorado Hills.

Kurt visits Red Hawk Casino at least once a week. On Friday, June 1 he had been playing slots for a short time before heading to his favorite table game, Four Card Poker. Kurt sat down at the table and placed his bets. Kurt says he always places the $1 progressive wager. Players are dealt five cards to make the best four card hand. He was dealt his first hand and began to turn the cards slowly. After the first three were revealed, Kurt began to get excited because he thought he had a flush. After he turned the fifth and final card he knew right away that he had hit the progressive with a royal flush of hearts. Because Kurt placed the $1 progressive wager, his Ace-King-Queen-Jack-Ten of hearts earned him the $88,182 progressive jackpot. The progressive payout is based on a hand using all five cards dealt.

Kurt loves to play Four Card Poker and was thrilled to win the jackpot. His advice to other Four Card Poker players, “Always place the progressive bet, it’s only a $1.” He plans to put some of his winnings toward his two sons’ college expenses and take a family vacation to Europe.
