Joe was Ryder’s best friend. As Ryder’s cousin, I know very well the relationship those 2 had. Do the time? Are you kidding?!?! That boy will be “doing the time” for the rest of his life. How dare you judge him. I miss Ryder every minute of every day. But I’ve had the support of family and friends to help me with my grief. Joe has had criminals and jail guards to help him. It was an accident. A horrible, tragic, accident. If Joe could have switched places with Ryder he would have. It was bad judgement made on the part of TWO young people. We have ALL done things we regret and wish we could take back. My point is, Judge not lest YE be judged. There is NOTHING our judicial system can do to Joe that will be worse than the one he will impose on himself for the rest of his life.

Drinking and Driving with injuries, he would be better off pleading his case and helping those heal from his act. Do the crime do the time fits here and he needs to pay for his acts.

It’s really hard to see such a young man in these condiitons who is grieving more than anyone of what has happened- A accident that will never be forgotten. It’s sad to see the Mt Democrat has to follow a case where familys need privacy still ..shame on you !!
