Comments: 1) Thanks Vicky for remembering that, "the district still doesn’t know the total amount of property taxes they will be receiving". And thanks for reminding Cahill that "new rentals at the community center are not increasing".

 2) Mr. Stanton, "a pretty good idea of what the total would be" means NOTHING."pretty good ideas" don't fill coffers. 3) Scott and Sean, Cahill's "motivations", (if any), "Led by a DESIRE to see the community center succeed" means NOTHING. Desires don't make anything happen . . Work, KNOWLEDGE and SUCCESS make things happen . .I'm not seeing any of that from Cahill. Just the same old excuses used allegedly at her last positions. 4) Mr.Lillpop said, “The district already has unfunded liabilities to retirees and the board should hold off on hiring a permanent employee for now”. I agree with Gerald and with Ms. Rogers saying that, "it would be fiscally irresponsible for the board to add to the district’s liabilities when the community center remains underused". 5) I agree with Mr. GElber when he said that, "in the current economy, no one should be hired full-time unless they came with very specific skills". I believe one of those skills should be the ability to market the facilities since Cahill sure appears to lack that skill. 6) When Mr. Carey added that "there was something wrong when there was so much turnover among the temp workers", I say look at the (hah) "leadership". 7.) "Unable to decide on the matter, the board instead voted to move the item to the Budget and Administration Committee for additional discussion". All I can say is Imagine my surprise. 8)"In a separate vote, the board agreed to reduce gym rental fees by 20 percent effectively immediately". Now there is a good decision, let's lower every fee until people actually begin visiting . . of course the reverse thinking is, what a marvelous way to keep people from just assuming all costs will continue going down so let's just wait until it's free . .AHAHAHahaha now that's a play right out of the "Cahill marketing guide". 9)"Battalion Chief Dave Teter reported he had successfully applied for a grant from FEMA. The $153,700 grant funds will go towards buying new equipment." Congrats Dave getting ANYTHING from that group of idiots is a true accomplishment. Good for you Bud . . .Now don't let the CPCSD steal it from you to try and fill their "black hole".
10) “Board member Shiva Frentzen brought back the idea of reestablishing a Revenue Enhancement Advisory Group (REAG). . . Frentzen said the group had previously come up with a list of ideas to generate more revenue but had no way of carrying them out”. Yup Sheva that is why you hired Cahill, Right, and now we have a big expense and still have no way of carrying them out. I say, Carry her out and get a real marketer/Mgr. 11)"She also recommended having a goal of making the community center revenue neutral by the end of the 2013-14 fiscal year." Never happen with your present "manager" Sheva. 12) “Cahill said the district was already working with the El Dorado Chamber of Commerce to improve the visibility of the community center." RIIIGGHHHT Cahill tries to get someone else to do her job, yet "She also thought Frentzen’s ideas were too ambitious for the number of staff the district has available to carry them out." 13) Thank you Ms. Neibauer for "reminding the board that residents had originally been told the community center would be self-sustaining". And Thanks for "recommending that the budget deficit be addressed first before working to make the community center revenue neutral."
14)"Also back again was Ed Anhorn of Sierra Smokehouse BBQ. He said he was still interested in holding a barbecue competition in Cameron Park but was put off when told by district staff that he would have to put together a proposal. Instead he thought the district should bring a proposal to him." Oh no, that would take work on Cahills part . . actually a part of her job. "He said if he didn’t hear from the district by the end of February, he would have to take the event elsewhere." 15) "Frentzen urged staff to move forward on the barbecue event. “Let’s make it happen. What is so hard about this?” she asked" The answer Sheva is NOTHING is hard about it. “Let’s not lose this deal,” said Frentzen, saying the district should act more like a business and go after events like the barbecue. “I just want the deal done. Make it happen,” she told Cahill" Good for you Sheva!!. 16) Frentzen then requested a special closed session meeting to discuss a personnel matter concerning the general manager." Hopefully this means looking into her past performances and setting some timelines for future performance or a date for termination if it does not happen.
