I appreciate you attempting to email me, but if you think I'll use my real email address on a website that has a) no privacy policy around email and b) appears to not be 100% honest in their dealings with the public, you're crazy. I've left you TWO voicemails now and not heard back...

OK, looks like my last question didn't take.

Anyhow, it seems that there is quite a bit of distrust in this newspaper which I find interesting given it's such a small community. You'd think people would be honest; interesting introduction to this aspect of the area.

In any event, I'd like to get a better understanding of this from the author. Ms. Hodson, I would think you'd read your feedback - is there a time I could give you a quick call to discuss?

Or, if not, can you please direct me to whomever the newspaper usually does for public inquiries?

Thanks much.

Dear Captain Obvious, as a newcomer to District issues you will find that the Mountain Democrat is the National Enquirer type press for the area. They bend the truth to promote discourse. Most people already are aware of this. Let’s face it Dawn is infatuated with Krizl and no true judge of any issue at this District. Dawn did not report on the true issues at the District like the Auburn Lake Trails water treatment plant is over budget at an estimated cost of $10.7 million, this was not discussed because the board needs to know what happened and how is the District going to pay for a plant that was estimated only months ago at $8.4 million. This was included in the board packet available online. Do I hear GREENWOOD LAKE WTP once again; the plan is more than the funding available? The rate payers once again cannot afford this project. Does the General Manager at GDPUD get a clue. Oh, that is right we still are paying for the Greenwood Lake Treatment Plant. …. I think you covered this with the statement of “cover up”. The big problem is this new treatment plant is poorly managed by the GM. When asking for information on this budget for the project the Board has been stonewalled by the GM with inadequate information. I bet the GM is going to throw this at the Board and tell them to come up with the funding and not take any blame for the project failure. Get ready for the ride, it’s downhill so hold on tight.

Kind of new here, but does the author work at the Georgetown Divide PUD? This seems like an article from someone that is not presenting a well balanced article. If this is an editorial and I missed it, I apologize. That aside, what is concerning from what I am reading here is first that there are 30 issues that need to be covered and then secondly that it appears that some of the board have no interest in taking the time to resolve them. I have seen this before and unfortunately it reeks of either laziness by those not wanting to fix the issues or more likely may point to a cover up of actual issues. A board of directors, especially in a public district, is paid to fix problems, not bury them. I mean come on, one board member is 'out sick' but we somehow have a 2 page explanation of his position and another member is using thinly veiled legal position, which I myself know as wrong. For a first time observer, as a past auditor, I'd be all over this district as something 'smells' here and it's not the sewage. I'll be tracking this very closely and am interested to see exactly what the community involvement, as well as that of this newspaper, are doing in support of this. I didn't move in an area that operates like the mob. The issue all seem valid. Lastly, if this isn't an opinion article, what does this newspaper get out of this spin? I don't get it.
