The Center for Violence-Free Relationships is offering a workshop on getting beyond assumptions and communicating from the heart on Oct. 25 at 6 p.m.
The workshop will focus on teaching participants how to state facts versus evaluations and focus on stating details instead of our perception.
“Most arguments focus on someone being right, ” Positive Solutions Coordinator Eddie Zacapa said. “Who is right becomes the focus and there usually are no winners in these type of arguments. By focusing on making observations we can get more clarity about what is going on and get on the same page. We also increase the likelihood that we will be heard.”
The workshop will be held at The Center for Violence-Free Relationships at 344 Placerville Dr., Suite 11, Placerville, CA 95667. The cost is $10 and assistance is available to individuals in financial need. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.
