The Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Chapter 512 will be sponsoring a Private Pilot Ground School beginning in January 2014. The class will run approximately 16 weeks. There will be a registration and information meeting on Dec. 14 at 10 a.m., at the EAA hangar at Placerville Airport. The Private Pilot Ground School class covers the academic portion of what is needed to obtain a private pilot’s license. Successful completion will qualify you to take the FAA Private Pilot written examination. The cost for this class is $150 and includes books and materials. Instruction is provided by local licensed instructors.
Driving directions: Take Highway 50 to the Point View exit east of Placerville, turn right and proceed westbound on Broadway, then turn left on Airport Road. Proceed one mile to the top of the hill; the airport entrance will be on your left. Park near the large mailbox, walk though the small gate and turn right to the EAA hangar (large green Quonset hut next to the stand of trees).
