The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call Wednesday regarding an altercation in the area of Brown’s Road and Cold Springs Road, just north of Placerville, that later turned into a murder investigation.
Deputies responded at about 4:10 p.m. after being advised that one of the subjects had been stabbed and was in cardiac arrest, a press release stated. The possible suspect had fled on foot. The victim, Matthew Steele, 20, of Auburn, was being administered CPR by witnesses and local residents. He was transported to Marshall Hospital by medics, where he was pronounced dead at 6:24 p.m.
The possible suspect, Wesley Hampshire, 18, of Placerville, was located at his Brown’s Road residence and taken into custody without incident. He was booked into the county jail with no bail on a single charge of murder based on information from an overnight investigation. The circumstances of the incident are still being investigated.

Why is he being charged with murder if it was in a fight and it wasn't pre meditated ? Wesley isn't the type of person to do someone like this...
