INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. – Join the Tahoe Rim Trail Association (TRTA) for 2012’s final Backcountry Trails Camp on Sept. 15 and 16.
This is an opportunity to meet new people, work up a sweat, enjoy a few nights out under the stars, and show your appreciation and support for the Tahoe Rim Trail.
Backcountry camps are a Tahoe Rim Trail Association tradition and your contribution to build and maintain the Tahoe Rim Trail builds on the work of 25 years of backcountry camp volunteers. Camp will be held near Barker Pass on the west side of the Tahoe Basin. Volunteers of all ages and skill levels are welcome to attend.
The TRTA’s Backcountry Camps are an enjoyable and family friendly way to work on the trail and enjoy the Tahoe outdoor lifestyle. Food will be provided, but in order to offset this cost the camp is $40. Scholarships are available. Families are welcome, and children’s camping equipment is available upon request.
For more information or to register, please visit tahoerimtrail.org or call Morgan Fessler at 775-298-0232.Volunteers must bring their own camping equipment, and must wear long-sleeved shirts, long pants, boots and work gloves. The Tahoe Rim Trail Association will provide hard hats, trail tools, volunteer kitchen staff, and crew leaders to guide and support trail work.
