Jennifer Kendall, the woman accused of fleeing to Washington with her young son against court orders, appeared in court for a brief hearing Monday afternoon.
Deputy District Attorney Dale Gomes told El Dorado County Superior Court Judge Douglas C. Phimister that he and Tom Johnson, Kendall’s attorney, had agreed to continue the case to Aug. 27 and 29, vacating a court date for July 18. Phimister agreed, ordered the hearing on July 18 vacated, and the hearing was brought to a close.
A warrant for Kendall’s arrest was issued on Jan. 3 for the offense of child stealing after leaving for Spokane, Wash. The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Investigative Task Force began a search for Kendall and located her on April 9 in a Spokane residence with her son.
