The behavior of this Board is bazar. The Board meeting called today is a special meeting quested by the Board president for a issue that was not presented to the Board in a timely manner and once again the Board is push in a corner to make emergency decision because of the incompetence of the legal counsel and general manager to provide timely information.
Why did the agenda include the oath of office of the newest board member? This is extremely strange. Is it to allow for a quorum for the vote? This cannot be the answer. You need to call the meeting to order with a quorum to have the new member take the oath of office. Is it to allow for another special issue? What is the actual agenda hidden from us?

GDPUD customers & area residents: The time of the SPECIAL MEETING tomorrow, 12/07/2012 (called by Chairman Griffiths 12/05/2012) will be 12:30 pm, NOT 5:30 pm as originally stated. Recently elected board members Capraun and Krizl will be sworn in. Other Agenda items: CALPERS amendments and Mountain Counties Water Resources Ballot for Bd of Directors election (due Monday, 12/10/2012).

I am so happy for Maria Capraun and I congratulate Norm Krizl. The job description of a General Manager calls for “Management Proficiency.” That means the GM is responsible to use his staff “effectively” by “Developing strategic plans” for changes in personnel. At the last Board Meeting the GM said he would have to close the District’s office and extra 2 days a week. He let the 3 top paid employees RETIRE (That takes Management approval) within 6-months. It doesn’t sound like the this District is managed properly. Maybe that should be where the newly elected candidates should “focus.”

Ditto on the comment by ‘Mountain Democrat reader’. As an objective fellow reader with no knowledge of any of the candidates, I thought to myself “what an idiot Neeley is” after reader her trash talk two existing dircectors who were not even up for election then end with the comment , “the community is tired of the nastiness”. She seemed to be the source of the nastiness. Maybe it’s time for some self-reflection Ms. Neeley. Your are correct that your constituents had so little faith in you but you are the reason. Life is too short to be a nasty bitter old lady.
