Labor Day closures announced

Some offices throughout El Dorado County will be closed, Monday, Sept.3 due to Labor Day, a state and federal holiday. Local residents may expect the following closures:

All branches of the post office will be closed on Sept. 3. There will be no mail delivery.

All schools in El Dorado County will be closed.

Placerville Police Department business office will be closed Friday, Aug.31 for furlough and Monday, Sept.3 for Labor Day. For emergency calls, dial 911. For non-emergency police calls, call 530-642-5280.

The  administrative offices of  the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office and the Fire Protection Districts will be closed on Sept.3. For emergency calls, dial 911. For non-emergency fire and medical calls, call 530-647-5250. For non-emergency police calls, call 530-621-5655.

All Placerville city offices will be closed on Sept. 3  for the holiday and the previous Friday, Aug.31, for furlough.

County offices, all branches of the county library and the county courts will be closed on Monday, Sept.3.

El Dorado Disposal Service reports that trash pickup will continue as regularly scheduled. The office will be closed on Labor Day.

El Dorado Transit buses will not run on Monday, Sept.3. The transit office will be closed.

El Dorado Irrigation District offices will be closed on Sept.3.

Banks will be closed for the holiday. However, some banks have branches in local supermarkets, and these may remain open. Check with your branch.

The offices of the Mountain Democrat will be closed on Sept.3, but a paper will be published. Subscribers who receive their newspaper by mail will receive it one day later when mail service resumes.
