Main Street still matters

No, you haven’t heard the last of Main Street Matters — because all of Main Street matters. A committee, led by Matt Boyer of Matthew C. Boyer & Associates, is trying to keep the momentum of the Benjamin Moore “Paint What Matters” campaign going in Placerville, by spreading the word about “Main Street Placerville Matters II.”

The committee, composed of Main Street business owners, Jim Vindler and Sue Rees, Main Street property owners Matt Huckabay and Kirk Smith, and Randy Wagner, CEO of Sierra Economic Development Corp., is looking to help revitalize Main Street businesses that did not receive the benefit of Benjamin Moore’s paint job.

Committee short-term objectives for Main Street are facade improvements of additional Main Street buildings and painting/repairing the facades facing U.S. Highway 50. Long-term objectives include historic restoration, signage, streetscaping and landscaping, street and sidewalk repair and parking.

A flyer sent out by the committee includes contact information for painting and awning contractors offering special discount incentives and small business loan information for improvements from SEDCorp.

More information was stated to be released soon.
