DUE FOR COMPLETION in March 2013, this former gas station will become an optometrist office downstairs and an apartment upstairs. Democrat photo by Shelly Thorene
A former gas station in the 100 block of Main Street in Placerville is getting a make-over.
The lower portion of the two-story building will house Precision Eye Care, which is currently located at 532 Main St. and is owned by Dr. Morrill. The upper floor of the building will be an apartment. In total, the building will be 2,600 square feet.
Work started on the building in March and, according to the general contractor S. B. Martin Construction, it should be completed by next March, weather permitting.
The new building is sited on what used to be a Mobil gas station and was later converted to a used car lot. The property is owned by Dr. Morrill.

Good job Dr. Morrill, Good use of an existing structure. Great to see an investment on this side of town.
