A man was arrested Sunday after allegedly punching both his wife and son after an argument near Sierra at Tahoe.
Although it was “debatable who punched who first,” said Lt. Tim Becker of the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office, Philip Ostrander, 34, was arrested for alleged spousal battery and willful cruelty to a child.
According to the official report, Ostrander’s 34-year-old wife stopped the car they were traveling in after they got into an argument and Ostrander punched her several times. The couple’s 14-year-old son tried to restrain Ostrander, but was punched in the face twice.
The wife left the car, but Ostrander alleged followed her and pushed her into a snow bank, Becker said. She was able to contact the resort’s security, who filed a report with EDSO.
The son complained of pain on his face, while the wife “sustained bruising, scrapes and had complaints of pain,” according to the daily media log. Both the wife and son declined medical treatment.
Ostrander was subsequently arrested. He remains in jail on $40,000 bail.
This is a sad turning point for us who live up here and work at or frequent the local resorts. The element of thug mentality and low life, disrespectful germs that are invading us like roaches is pathetic. There is now graffiti, found knives, found bullets, guns in vehicles, domestic violence. Why in the world would anyone with a brain have these things at a ski resort? My educated guess is they are arming themselves up here as they do in the toilets they come from. Trust me, it’s only a matter of time until there is a shooting at one of our resorts. I can only hope its moron against moron and they kill each other and not some innocent guest. Problem is, those morons keep breeding like flies.

We don’t want or need this kind of element up here. You may not see it so I can’t help you. I have lived up here over twenty years and have personal experience to back up what is now slithering into our community. You stay down below where you think it’s safe and in your bubble. You are a fools fool.These roaches don’t spend money here, they steal and then return to their city toilet until the next weekend, when they return to steal, fight and remain a nuisance to us. I don’t care what you think Ken Steers. You don’t live here and see it first hand, so your opinion is meaningless.
Lake Tahoe is a tourist economy. If you have only lived in our county for a short 20 years you may not have garnered that reality. I do care what you think and I don’t like it. So take your ignorant racist attitude and crawl back to that hole you originally came from you pathetic creature.
You (pathetically) missed the point. And as earlier stated, I don’t care what you think. Deal with that. Keep your head in the sand.
People like you and your racism are being dealt with. It usually takes about 80 years for the cure to happen.
