Man arrested for failing to pay 21 years of child support

MARTIN SEEBACH

A 58-year-old man was arrested Monday on two felony counts of grand theft against his now-adult children and four misdemeanor counts of disobeying a court order by failing to pay child support.

Martin Seebach was ordered to pay child support for his three then-minor children after a divorce, a joint press release from the District Attorney Vern Pierson and El Dorado County Child Support Services Director Laura Roth announced. Seebach divorced in Sacramento County in 1993 and moved to El Dorado County in 1996.

Seebach failed to pay child support for 21 years, the press release alleges, giving him the highest arrears — overdue legal debt — in the county, at $600,000.

Charges had been filed against Seebach in 2000 and 2002 for failing to pay child support, and all previous attempts to get Seebach to pay proved unsuccessful.

According to county jail records, Seebach is being held on $50,000 bail, though the press release states he is being held in lieu of $200,000 bail. He was scheduled to be arraigned on Oct. 30.

This is the most pathetic arrest and use of taxpayer dollars I have ever seen. How about arresting parental pedophiles for the lifelong damage and injury they cause their own children?
What is this really about? A good P/R campaign for our District Attorney and how on the ball Family Law and Child Support services is?
Lookout deadbeat non payers, this county will hunt you down for decades. Money, money, money and money the system our the grown kids will never see!
Heck, the guy probably tried to get a modification of support in 1994…still waiting for his hearing.
Yeah, you are really sending a message all right, not sure it is the one you want.

I have to pay my child support. Why should this puke get away with not paying his? I’m glad he’s in jail where he belongs.
$600k is quite a lot. He looks like he wouldn’t have 6 cents. He has the look only his crack pipe would love. Pathetic pos.

  3. mommydearest says:

Please be nice to my son !! He has seventeen children with four different women. I offered to pay for a vasectomy after the seventh child, but he has some kind of charlie manson cult fixation. He’s learned how to do some jail house tatooing, and he plans to put some kinda numbered swastika on each of his private little army.

  4. James E. says:

mommydearest, we will take notice of your comments in mitigation of your son’s behavior. However, cannot assure you that we will be nice to him.

This guy doesn’t need to support his porgeny, that is what the government is for. We have an entire political party that has built their existance on it.
