This judge made a very dangerous decision to allow someone headed to prison for a violent crime time out of custody with an unarmed/untrained citizen acting as a driver for the inmate and the result was predictable. Having seen a few hundred sentencing hearings, not one inmate was ever allowed this same get out of jail time that I saw, this endangered the public and the person who was assaulted. This judge does need to be replaced.

well you are only hearing one side of the story .As you can tell the judge is a complete moron and the public defender(pretender) was on the same dope as the judge. Thats why hes going to jail i know tony and he doesn’t have 3 hours worth of business to start with . since his girl friend is a crack head and an alcoholic and he caught her in bed with the local crack dealer he lost it . he goes to jail daddy comes gets his daughter and cleans her up and brings her to court (daddys got a lot of money , tells her shes out of the will ) you see he doesnt like tony , hes not rich . any way thats just a part of the other side of the story

What “MoonBeam” is doing certainly isn’t right. Please don’t try to minimize this incident though. So where is the low grade mope now that never hurt anyone except his woman? He obviously did the crime and was convicted. I’ll chance a bet that he’s done it before but was never convicted or called on it. Irregardless… he’s now on the run due to the actions of this judge. If the courts allow field trips of this nature, then they need to be supervised by professional law enforcement.

Besides the inflamatory way the article was written do any of you even know what the duties of a judge entail? Your upset because a low-grade mope who has never hurt anyone except a women who he is intimately involved with, was give a couple of hours to get his affairs in-order before going off to prison – and walked away from his agreement with the court. But virtually nothing is said about our illustrious govenor who, under his “realignment” of the state’s criminal justice system allowed THOUSANDS of convicted, incarcerated felons out of prisons and into our communities?!?
Before you “remove” an experienced judge who has has a reputation for making good, fair, balanced decisions, for what is essentially a daily, routine decision made by judges around the state. Better ask yourself if the media hasn’t exploited this story and if your critisism isn’t better directed elsewhere.

Yes, what in the world was he/she thinking as a Judge? Let him get his affairs in order AND have a CIVILIAN from a church in charge?? Seriously? No wonder the puke fled.The “civilian” should be held accountable as well as the judge.
He would be wise to leave this area as the cold moves in. But if he decides to enter the wrong building for heat or theft, he will be dealt with accordingly. Court adjourned!

Convicted of battery, terrorist threats, sentenced to State Prison and then he’s let out on a field trip. I agree Frank… we should know who this judge is and he should go.

What “judge” is this? sounds like someone who needs a permanent vacation from the law. I can only imagine that a naive person with no idea of the criminal instict would do this, this was called endangering the county and providing a citizen to drive the inmate around? Seriously? Time for a new judge.
