Placerville Police officers were dispatched to the Hangtown Motel on July 1 at around 10:05 p.m. after a stabbing was reported.
Upon arrival, officers located the victim, identified as Larry Allum, 42, lying in the parking lot of the motel, a press release stated. He was found to have been stabbed in the left side of his chest.
Allum and several witnesses identified the female suspect as Tyceene Leann Scira, 30. They also learned the incident had taken place in a transient camp located on the north side of Broadway, east of Smith Flat Road, the press release stated.
Shortly after arriving at the hillside camps, officers were able to take the the suspect into custody without further incident.
According to the press release, PPD is still investigating the crime and the motive. The victim was treated at and released from Marshall Hospital.
Scira is currently being held on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon resulting in great bodily injury on $25,000 bail.
