The El Dorado County Department of Transportation has scheduled a temporary closure of the Mosquito Bridge over the South Fork of the American River for annual maintenance activities. The schedule is as follows:
Continuous 24-hour closure starting at 8 a.m. on Monday, July 9, through Wednesday, July 18, ending at 3 p.m.
Closure on a daily basis will begin on Thursday, July 19, through Friday, July 27, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.

How much money has been thrown at this swinging bridge and it's still the same ol rickety bridge it has always been. Just seems like a money pit that should have been addressed long long ago.
