Murder at the casino

Juarez Estaphen

ESTAPHEN JUAREZ

A 19-year-old was fatally stabbed at the Red Hawk Casino in Shingle Springs Nov. 21.

Deputies were dispatched to the casino around 10:30 p.m. after receiving a report of an alleged stabbing, according to a press release. The victim, identified as Gene Mcarn, 19, of Rescue, was transported by friends to Marshall Hospital.

Despite life-saving efforts, Mcarn succumbed to his injuries.

Homicide detectives and CSI personnel processed the scene and interviewed witnesses. Following their initial investigation, detectives are searching for Estaphen Juarez, who has been declared a person of interest in the incident.

What a despicable excuse of a human being. I use the term human being lightly. Growing up I knew Stevie, But as the years have passed by he is become such a horrible excuse of the person:( Drugs probably got the better of him... The really sad thing is is that this poor 19-year-old was a victim of his!!! I am sure that Stevie's family is hiding him because they all are supporting him on Facebook. You should be ashamed of yourself and feel guilty as well for raising a child that is so disgusting. He killed another person's child. When I heard he stab someone I was not surprised for one second. Hopefully he turns himself in... But someone with no soul like this probably won't.

If his parents or family is hiding this puke, they deserve anything they get. I'd like to see all of them in jail. He's a pathetic waste and a product of preg-o Mom doing drugs no doubt. Too bad we can just step on him like the roach he is. His family is obviously no better than he. Please stop breeding like flies you scum.

I was a good friend of the victim. I just hope they catch this heroin dealing pile of s***. He murdered a GREAT kid, over $20 because he was too much of a ***** to take his beating like a man and pulled out a knife. If you read this Shorty, you better hope the cops get you before we do.

I really hope this guy never gets out. He deserves everything he recieves from jail time to what happens to him in prison. He took the life of a great person that i knew and went to elementry school with. Gene brought light to a lot of people. During the year of 2012 everyone that Gene considered a friend alays hung out at placerville city park which is where gene spent most of his time with his friends. Now after Genes death it seems like the city park is a ghost town. That should show you how much of an influence he had on people and how many people he was loved by. Its really sad how now a days people cant fight one on one take a ass beating and shake hands. It now resorts to a knife or a gun SO PATHETIC. I love you and miss you Gene I know your watching over me bro and ill see you again some day on the other side. May you rest in peace Gene Mcarn

All of the comments I have read on every article are so upsetting. While any death or loss is sad and certainly a tragedy, When the truth comes out in trial any human being with a soul will be ashamed for the horrible things they have said.It is not about taking "a beating like a man" when you are being jumped by several people and are in a position where it is impossible to defend yourself...This man may be many things but he is by no means a murderer. If you were not there, you dont know and can not judge the soul of a man you do not truly know. And when the truth is finally released I hope everyone who has judged this man with no information having been released yet will be mature enough to admit to the awful, racist, horrible, stereotypical things you have said. And no Im not a relative, Im a realist.
