A suspect in the Red Hawk Casino murder case was arrested Monday.
El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office received information that Estephen Juarez, 33, was in the Cothrin Ranch area, a rural area north of Latrobe.
At about 10 a.m., deputies located the address and established surveillance. Positive identification of Juarez was made. Deputies surrounded the house and Juarez surrendered peacefully.
However, while evacuating the residence, an aggressive dog was able to escape and attacked an EDSO K-9. The aggressive dog was shot and died of the injuries, according to he Sheriff’s Office.
Juarez was wanted in connection with the death of Gene Mcarn, 19, of Rescue, who died of stab wounds on Nov. 21. He is being held on two counts of violation of probation and one count of murder with a $1 million bail hold.

Why do all you so-called reporters print only the Sheriffs Depatments interpretation of an incident? Why don't you go out and gather all the information you can? Gather all the witness reports, and police reports, then write your story. If all it takes to be a so-called reporter is to get a police report and copy it, then he'll sign me up. Any idiot can do that. Why will law enforcement officers use a tazer gun on a 300 pound man to control a situation, yet fatally shoot a 72 year old widow woman's dog right in front of her? Does that sound logical to you? Research your story before you take a police report as gospel. If this is all you learned at CSU, perhaps you may want to apply as a door greeter at Wal-Mart. Do your job. This whole story is Bull****, but you write it as if its gospel. I don't know about the guilt or innocents of Mr. Juarez, but I know the rest of the story is not true, including the location of Mr. Juarez' arrest. If you want to earn credibility with your readers, find out the truth before you print it.

They should have shot him and not the dog. Would have saved taxpayers.
