The National Alliance on Mental Illness(NAMI) will hold a public meeting on Feb. 4, 5:30 p.m., regarding future funding under the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) for 2014-15. MHSA was created by Proposition 63, which imposes a 1 percent tax on incomes over $1 million.

These funds are distributed to counties throughout the state and are intended to transform the mental health system into one that is client and family driven. Public input is necessary to create our county’s plan for these funds. All persons interested in participating in this discussion regarding the future of community mental health are encouraged to attend.
