Following a late afternoon closed session July 15, El Dorado County Supervisors announced their appointment of Robyn Truitt Drivon to the position of County Counsel. Drivon is currently the County Counsel of Yolo County in Woodland since 2006 and is very experienced, said outgoing County Counsel Ed Knapp after he made the official report of the board’s decision.
She will fill the remaining portion of Knapp’s four-year contract that began last May. All of the four serving supervisors, Norma Santiago, Brian Veerkamp, Ron Briggs and Ron “Mik” Mikulaco participated in the 4-0 vote for the appointment.
According to Knapp’s report to the board, “Her start date will be Sept. 2. She is hired at Step 5 of the salary range, plus, contingent upon board approval on an open agenda item, the 5 percent salary increase already scheduled to commence in January 2015 will be accelerated to her start date, plus she will be given credit for 80 hours of vacation and 80 hours of sick leave on her start date. County Counsel will be preparing an open session item for that compensation to the board to be agendized between now and Sept. 2.”
Knapp came to the county in 1993 after several years in the federal attorney general’s department in San Francisco.
