The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office — Office of Emergency Services has implemented a new Emergency Notification System to alert county residents about public health and public safety emergencies such as:
• Evacuations due to wildfires
• Hazardous material spills
• Urgent law enforcement operations.
Public health and safety related messages may be sent during or after an emergency event to keep you informed. The Emergency Notification System enables officials to distribute essential information quickly when there is a threat to the health or safety of county residents.
The EDSO-OES Alert Notification System uses the 9-1-1 database to call and deliver a recorded message to all landline phone numbers in a specific geographic area within the County.
Residents may also be notified on the cellular telephone, Voice over IP (VolP) phone, or at their e-mail address. Residents wishing to receive messages on these devices must register online at: ready.edso.org.
It is important for residents not to rely on EDSO-OES Alert Notification System as their only means to receive emergency information. In any emergency situation, reacting quickly and calmly is of utmost importance. Learn more about preparedness at: ready.gov/are-you-ready-guide and redcross.org/prepare.
