We hold our elected officials to a higher standard and in doing that we demand swift and just punishment when they fail. We demand that they be taken to task for the crimes they do and when they lie we want they held accountable. That said we look to the courts to be our saving grace and seek out the truth and then punish when found guilty. However when the punishment doesn't fit the crime or a deal is made we are cheated once again and our system fails. All we are left with is our voice and our numbers in mass to effect a change, so we must get involved and set the tone for what we want and elect those who will follow the law, rules and listen to the people. Together we will turn this mess around and make sure that we have a "Government for the People".

All cases of local civil corruption or criminal corruption by an elected official or employee in this county should go before the state Attorney General so that the influence of any local politics is cancelled. Every time we think that the Good Ol' Boys were dealt a blow and are on the way out, another example seems to appear, like the Judge election currently with a number of peole who should be ashamed of themselves for making endorsements without investigation, then, when exposed, they double-down and claim excuse after excuse why they didn't do the right thing in being honest which is the first requirement for any position elected or otherwise. This case should of gone to the AG at the beginning becuase politics is in play locally and the presumption is that justice will be influenced and not served, that some "deal" will be struck, not hard time that this case demands.

It's all about the money every time, the money he was making and the money he was to make, then the greed that comes with it and the power his position gave him. The lies then explained it all and compounded the issues, he couldn't turn it around without his attitude taking over. Now we wait till the court has time to stop the continues and gets on with the trial.

Offers? OFFERS? Are you kidding? He's the one who should be making offers - to the citizens of Placerville, in the form of time and restitution. Get him off the public streets and out of our faces, and pry some of his illbegotten moolah out of his grubby mitts.

No offer accepted, should we be surprised, why would he when he can just cost the city/county more money and spit in the face of the law. After all he wasn't supposed to be held accountable or follow the rules he was the mayor, was being the best word here. How he can still claim he did nothing wrong is further proof that he needs to go,he will have his trial after more delays. Wonder at what cost to the city of Placerville, more proof that he cares only of himself. Hope justice is swift.
