Offices closed on Veterans Day

Some offices throughout El Dorado County will be closed on Monday, Nov. 12, due to the observation of Veterans Day, a state and federal holiday. Here’s a look at what local residents may expect:

All schools in El Dorado County will be closed on Nov. 12.

The offices of the police, sheriff and fire departments will be closed. For emergency calls, dial 911. For non-emergency police calls, call 642-5280. For non-emergency fire and medical calls, call 647-5250.

All branches of the post office will be closed on Monday, Nov. 12. There will be no mail delivery.

El Dorado Transit buses will not run on Nov. 12.The transit office will be closed.

All Placerville city offices will be closed on Friday, Nov. 9 for furlough and on Monday, Nov. 12 for the holiday .

County offices will be closed. All branches of the county library will be closed. County courts will be closed.

El Dorado Disposal Service reports that trash pickup will continue as regularly scheduled and the office will be open.

El Dorado Irrigation District offices will be closed on Nov. 12.

Banks will be closed for the holiday. However, some banks have branches in local supermarkets and these may remain open. Check with your branch.

The offices of the Mountain Democrat will be open for the holiday on Nov. 12 and a paper will be published. Subscribers who receive their newspaper by mail will receive it one day later when mail service resumes.
