At that time, a private ambulance company provided inadequate service, and the Board of Supervisor took a bold step. They created a tax based public service agency solely responsible for providing emergency medical care. As a result, lives were saved. Not to mention the extra “bang for the buck” of firefighters providing this service, a dual role modeled now across the country. The Board of Supervisors, administrators, and especially the personnel “on the job” deserve appreciation and continued support from the residents of El Dorado County.

They didn’t do what they were supposed to do either.. Any surprise?
