Catering to all the pet lovers in El Dorado County, a Petco store officially opened in Cameron Park on Monday, Sept. 16.

With an enormous selection of pet-related items to choose from, store manager Ben Roach-Cogswell said they have everything needed to care for your pet including a wide variety of pet foods, bedding, toys and other items with their biggest seller being natural food for cats.

The store also offers a variety of services, including grooming for dogs, low-cost vaccination clinics once a month and training packages for puppies and adult dogs. Private lessons are another option.

Aside from the monthly vaccination clinics, the store holds a monthly show-and-tell event featuring an animal from the store. Past events have included guinea pigs, reptiles, birds, geckos and bearded dragons.

As of 2010, Petco had over 1,000 locations throughout the United States.

The days and hours of operation of the store are Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. It is located at 3454 Palmer Drive, in Cameron Park. For more information, call 530-672-1069

I shop at local stores--However I also shop for the best deal. since everyone seems to want to go "urban" --just ask CEDAPP and CEDAC. (and many support them.) Stack n packs and huge corporations are coming. You can't say "yes" to one and not expect the other to come. Go to the BOS. Actually go to Kim Kerr...she seems to be in change now. Actually I believe she will be at a CEDAC meeting coming up--go to that. Read. And yes support local....because CEDAC, CEDAPP...the El Dorado Chamber...have asked for the big businesses to come in. Loca little guys...will disappear if you dont shop there. I come from Los angeles...here in Pollock...behind what the community wants is a group selling out our soul. For money--grants. without the consumer--the business wont exist. there had to be a need...business comes in and surveys a place before they put in the company.
