Placerville KOA wins award

BILLINGS, MONT. —  The Placerville KOA Campground has been awarded the 2013 KOA President’s Award by Kampgrounds of America, the world’s largest system of family-friendly campgrounds. The award was presented Saturday, Nov. 17, at KOA’s annual International Convention in Orlando, Florida. KOA is also celebrating its 50th Anniversary in 2012.

The KOA President’s Award is presented annually to campgrounds that receive high scores in customer service from their campers, and also receive top scores in KOA’s annual Quality Review.

KOA surveys hundreds of thousands of campers each year regarding their KOA camping experience.

“Our KOA owners rely on the feedback they receive from our camping guests to make almost instant changes and improvements to their operations,” said KOA President Pat Hittmeier. “KOA owners do a wonderful job a listening to our campers, and I’m proud to be able to recognize the best among the best with the KOA President’s Award.”

Kampgrounds of America was founded in 1962 on the banks of the Yellowstone River in Billings, Montana. To find out more about this KOA, any of the other 484 KOAs in the U.S. or Canada, go to KOA.com.

    Congratulations for hanging in there.
For you who weren’t around when this campground was finally approved after not one, but two lawsuits by people who said it would be a drug haven full of “trailer park trash,” would destroy the environment, would be an eyesore, etc., etc., and made the county put on outrageous requirements, the owners kept at it (can you say $$$$$)and made a wonderful park.
    Congratulations again!!

And here I always thought the initials stood for Kids On Acid.
