You’re correct SH. The union failed to pass on the last proposal to the workers before the strike started. Most of them did go back to work. And there were people hired by the union to stand out front. All true.
Dink, the strike is over. You can put away your brown shirt and pour yourself another tall ice cold glass of KoolAid.

I love this talking point — “to stay competitive.” No it’s NOT about staying competitive… Raley’s bought out — Nob Hill (Very Popular store) AND Bel Air (Another Very Popular store) that sold BETTER PRODUCTS…. To GET RID OF THE COMPETITION … they bought them OUT! NEXT TALKING POINT: Hired people to picket…HA, HA, HA,… only NON-Union shops like FOX NEWS would say that….HA, HA,…. They were Union people…. HA, HA… Your ignorance is showing…

It’s not the employees fault, it’s the union. I know an employee in Sac who said that 80% of the employees came back to work – the union thugs hired people to picket. I talked to another who was on strike because they were asically forced to. Personally I think unions are terrible, but I do agree with them in this instance. There were alot of things that the employees need to suck up – such as extra pay on Sundays. Give me a break. However I do think they should get Holiday pay on Holidays. The worst though was that they were trying to take retirement pay away from people who ahd already retired. These people live on a fixed income and already built a life around that set amount – what is the point of signing a contract if they can just go and change it later? not cool. Glad its over!

CEO’s and shareholders? Do you have any clue how business works? How to stay competitive? That’s right. All you care about is your pocket. Never mind the people and the company that provides a job for you. Do you think people open business for a hobby? Or do you think they open business for a profit? And why should I or anyone else keep my business running in to the ground in the name of free healthcare and sunday bonus pay and medical after retirement? Jesus H. Crisco… It’s easy to point the finger at management and the owners and the real greedy sob is you.

I love it… “union workers want their cake and eat it too.”….. Now lets change to the REAL subject — “CEOs” and “Shareholders” (if they have them) want their cake and eat it too….. They want the RECORD PROFITS & KEEP the $$$ set aside for Medical…. These “funds” are what corporate raiders (i.e. Bain Capital) LOVE to cash in for their profits…. and leave the Fed Govt picking up the tab…

No one was aksing for more than they had. They wanted to keep what they have in place and in tact. Concessions were made to accomodate Raleys in their effort to be more competitive in the market. These workers are to praised for their committment to their fellow and prior employees and all the efforts made to have a decent standard of living and medical benefits. A little revolution is good now and then. Perhaps local governments should pay attention as well.

Unreal. The union workers want their cake and eat it too. This is the kind of person/organization that puts good companies out of business. These people should be glad they have a job and support the company that provides it. Instead the “me, me!” types are asking more than the company can afford or they deserve. God help America with this mindset and type of person becoming more prevalent.
