John Skeel has landed on his feet. The former El Dorado Hills Community Services District general manager took the reins of the Tahoe Resource Conservation District on July 23.
You might still run into him in the supermarket, however. Reached by phone, Skeel said he was “thrilled” to be able to stay in the area, and that his family will remain in El Dorado Hills for now.
His new office is in South Lake Tahoe, near Camp Richardson, but he expects to be back in El Dorado Hills on weekends.
At this point, there are few in the community who don’t wish him well.
The job marks the first of two milestones that will bring closure to his firing, an ugly year-plus of allegations and denials that culminated in Skeel filing suit against the EDHCSD and its board members, and the board replacing its legal counsel.
A board recall effort that followed is unlikely to make the deadline for the November ballot, which requires 4,235 valid signatures for each of the five board members by Aug. 10.
The second milestone is the possible resolution of the lawsuit.
Good Job Mr. Skeel. I am very happy that you have been able to secure employment in the area. I truly hope you continue to sue the El Dorado Hills CSD for the injustice they did to you and your family.
