El Dorado County Animal Services is seeking the owner of a dog that bit a woman Sept. 10 near Sly Park Lake.
The woman was walking on a trail at Sly Park Lake around 6:30 p.m. when the all-white male pit bull approached her, a press release stated. The dog had been on a leash, jogging with its owner, when it bit the woman on her hip.
The owner was described as a young adult male in his early 20s, about 6 feet 3 inches tall, with dark hair. He gave his name as Nathan, but refused to provide further information. He was accompanied by a young adult female who also had a pit bull, black and white, on a leash.
The woman’s injuries were not life threatening, but Animal Services is seeking the dog’s owner to verify rabies vaccinations. Without verification, the woman could need post-exposure treatment.
Anyone with information is urged to call Animal Services at 530-621-5795.
