The 100-foot-by-50-foot fire was reported at 7:03 p.m., said El Dorado County Fire Battalion Chief Tim Cordero. He said the fire was “mid-slope” behind the Dollar Tree store. Evidence points to the cause being transients, he said, but there was no official cause as of Friday.
“Heavy manzanita” hampered the crews, Cordero said, making the fire suppression take more time.
The fire was contained at 7:30 p.m. with damage only done to the landscape. Cal Fire assisted in containment.
