At 10:21 p.m. on March 14, Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of an altercation.
They found Victor Rodriguez, 23, stabbed in the chest after a fight, said Sgt. Phil Chovanec of the Sheriff’s Office. Rodriguez provided suspect information, and Mario Dowling, 22, was taken into custody on an assault with a deadly weapon charge and a charge related to making criminal threats, both felonies.
According to the incident report, Dowling told Rodriguez he was going to kill him before fleeing.
Dowling is currently being held at the El Dorado County Jail with a listed bail of $100,000.
