Judicial Commissioner Dylan Sullivan won a promotion to the Superior Court bench Office 5 with an impressive nearly 60 percent margin over El Dorado Hills attorney Joe Hoffman.

“I am very thankful to my volunteers and supporters who worked diligently with me. I am thankful and proud of the hard work done on my behalf. I am humbled by the voters’ confidence. I understand my role is that of a public servant. I will work hard for the people of El Dorado County and administer my duty fairly and impartially,” Sullivan told the Mountain Democrat.

“I also want to congratulate Vicki Ashworth who is very capable and will make an excellent judge. Having spent more time with the candidates running for judge than my own family at times during the campaign, I’ve come to respect Mr. Hoffman, Mr. Comebellack and Mr. Weinberger. These gentleman also worked hard and had the courage to run for public office. Irrespective of the results, these gentleman deserve our respect and admiration.”

Hoffman said, “I am genuinely surprised by the results, but congratulate Dylan. I am proud of the campaign I ran. I feel I was true to myself and the office of judge, and am grateful for the people that I was able to meet and friendships I formed through this process.”
