Teen accident prompts Smart Start classes

By From page A8 | March 15, 2013

In response to the crash involving three juveniles on North Shingle Road on March 3, the CHP has scheduled three Start Smart courses and a tentative fourth course.

The program, which aims to help teenage drivers improve their abilities and avoid accidents, will be held at the Cameron Park Community Center at 2502 Country Club Drive, CHP Officer Quinn Cuthbertson said. The programs will be held at 6 p.m. on March 28, April 4 and 11, with a fourth class tentatively scheduled for April 18. Completion of the free course is often recognized by insurance companies, which can result in a discount.

Space is limited. To reserve seats for a teen and parent, call the CHP office at 530-622-1110.
